We recommend that everyone attends the first 5 sessions as they give you a basic introduction to each topic. The topics include:

- Week 3: Healthy Eating
- Week 4: 1st Steps - Getting into physical activity
- Week 5: Basic cookery
The next 6 sessions are chosen by you! Some past suggestions have included:
- Portions
- Food labels
- Shopping visits
- Cooking on a budget
- Stress and relaxation
- Fats and sugars
Follow-up Sessions
Having lost weight, one of the biggest challenges is to maintain that weight loss. To help participants, after the intial 12 weeks have finished, we offer continued group support. The format and content of this is not set in stone as we adjust the sessions to suit the different needs of people in the group.
Drop-In Sessions
These aim to:
- Provide you with 1-2-1 support when you need it
- Enable those who cannot attend the group session with the opportunity to access advice & support
- Help you to keep a check on your weight
- Enable those who are waiting for their 12 week sessions to start, with the opportunity to access advice & support
One-off Sessions
For established community groups (not necessarily connected with exercise), the Riteweight team can provide one-off introductory sessions. The content of these is taken from the structured programmes but is altered to suit the particular group. If any members of the group want to get involved after the session, they are invited to join the main 12-week programme.
Training Opportunities
We offer training to people who would like to deliver weight management sessions in their community, or assist with the Riteweight programme. No experience is necessary as full training will be given at a pre-agreed location.
